    What is a Garnishee?

A Garnishee is an automatic deduction arrangement without a person’s consent due to continued non-payment of a debt, and inaction on all previous warnings regarding the debt.

Garnishee Orders aren’t to be taken lightly, they’re serious matters that require you to act fast!

If you’ve received an Order, chances are you have received other warnings that you failed to act on. However, due to their nature, you will need to act quickly in order to access your own funds again.

What that means is that you’re excluded from the equation and the court orders these parties to pay your wage, savings, or money owed to you directly to the party in which you have an outstanding debt owing.

    Garnishee Orders for Wages

If your employer receives a garnishee order, they are required by law to leave you with a minimum amount of money known as the “weekly compensation” amount. This is valued at $512.10 per week, all additional money will be redirected to the party in which your debt remains unpaid.
